Manchester United vs Manchester City: Will Cristiano Ronaldo be in Impressive Form?

Manchester United midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo has been in imperious form so far this season. However, the Portuguese winger was not in his red-hot form in his club’s hardly-gained draw against Tottenham Hotsput in their recent premier league match. To tell the truth, Manchester United’s lackluster performance against Tottenham has become a worry for them ahead of mouth watering derby match against Manchester City on Sunday.

However, Ronaldo has expressed his hope that he will continue his impressive form in the remainder of the season and play for Portugal in EURO 2008 in the similar fashion. Above all, he wants to contribute for Portugal as well as for his country.

Goal.com reported:

"I will be well prepared for the Championships. I believe that with my motivation level things will go well."

"I have been showing in my club and national team my evolution as a player and as a person.

"I am ready for the big challenges. Tomorrow (as Portugal face Italy in a friendly) will be another one.

"I will try to help Portugal and Manchester (United) reach our goals."

Ronaldo is now leading the highest scorer’s table with 19 premier league goals so far this season. However, I think, Manchester Untied fans now will be happy to see him playing some of his best football in their upcoming meeting with city rivals Manchester United. An in-form Ronaldo can bring out as many happy moments for Manchester United as they need to win over Manchester City. Winning the match is very important for Manchester United as they have lost their top place in the league point table following the draw against Tottenham Hotspur and currently two points behind the Arsenal at the top.
