Arsenal is going to travel to Manchester City tomorrow in order to face each other in an important league match. The City takes on Arsenal on the home soil as both the sides are in good form now. Ahead of the match both teams have different goals ahead of them. Arsenal will be looking to win the match in order to keep themselves atop the league point table.
Manchester City is now in the sixth place of the league point table with 41 points. They are still within two points of fourth place holder Everton. So, they have a big chance to finish within the top four, which will win a place in the third round qualifying stage of Champions league next season for them. So winning the match is also very important for Manchester City.
Arsenal is currently moving on without some of their key players. Robin van Persie has been back in the training, but he is yet to get his match fitness back. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he would not play any more gambles on this talented striker. Wenger features Persie in December after recovering from injury, however, he was immediately sidelined thereafter with injury again. This time Arsene Wenger wants to make sure that the Dutch is completely fit to start playing football. Arsenal will miss some other players as well. Johan Djourou (groin) and Denilson (hamstring) are yet to recover from injury, while Emmanuel Eboue, Kolo Toure and Alex Song are now away at Ghana representing their nation in the African Nations Cup 2008.
Manchester City might feature Micah Richards against Arsenal as the defender missed City’s two previous matches with a knee injury. Manchester City’s newly signed Felipe Caicedo from Ecuador will not available for the Arsenal clash as he is yet to arrive in the club. It is now confirmed that Manchester City will feature Darius Vassell and Daniel Sturridge against Arsenal. I think, Arsenal is going to face a strong challenge at the City of Manchester Stadium tomorrow. If Arsenal wants to go hand in hand with Manchester United then they have to stave off the challenge of Manchester City.
