Chelsea Projected Record Turnover Last Year

Chelsea has projected a record turnover in the last financial year. Chelsea has received 222.3 million pounds in 2006-2007 financial year with the pre-tax loss decreased by seven percent. Now, Chelsea has the second highest turnover after Manchester United among the other premier league clubs. Chelsea’s successful run played a big role behind their financial success. The London based club won Carling Cup and FA Cup and finished second in the premier league, while their Champions League run stopped at the semi final.

Canadian Press reported:

"In terms of revenue against that matrix then clearly we are No. 2 behind Manchester United," chief executive Peter Kenyon told the BBC. "The numbers speak for themselves. All of our metrics are very positive."

Chelsea's losses were the lowest since Russian oil billionaire Roman Abramovich took over the club in 2003.

Chelsea finished runner-up in the Premier League last season, won the Carling and FA Cups and reached the semifinals of the Champions League.

Chelsea is going towards make the current season successful as well. They are still active in every competition available for a Premier league club. They will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Carling Cup final of this season and reached the quarter final of FA Cup. Chelsea is now eight points behind leader Arsenal in premier league, while they are now in Champions League last 16 round. So, it seems that Chelsea is going to have another successful financial season with on field success.
