New England Patriots vs Jacksonville Jaguars: Divisional Playoff Preview

New England Patriots will take on Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday’s divisional round playoff match on their home ground. The match has been center of attention as fans are eager to see undefeated Patriots on the field. Bettors are spending their money on this match. In terms of regular season record, it is clear that Patriots are favorite to win the match.

Now, the question is that if Jaguars can cause any upset against the Patriots. Yes, it will be a bit tight call for any expert considering the uncertainty always associated with the matches. It is almost certain that Tom Brady has been in an impressive form this season with a record 50 touchdown passes in the regular season. He has already been voted NFL MVP 2007. Along with Randy Moss, the quarterback has made match winning combination with Moss received 23 of his 50 touchdown passes in the season.

So, New England Patriots will expect something like that in the next match as well. However, it will be a big mistake if Patriots take the Jaguars lightly. With 11-5 record in the season, you can not look down upon the Jaguars. Even in the wild card playoff match, they projected a 31-29 victory over the strong Pittsburgh Steelers. It is true that the divisional round match will be a different one for the Jaguars, but you can not write off Jacksonville Jaguars having no chance in the match.

There will have another advantage of Jacksonville Jaguars. They have some tall wide receivers who can make a difference in the game. Their front line wide receivers have an average height of 6 feet 6 inches whereas Patriots has only one defensive back with over six feet.

You may think that height will not matter much when it comes to performance and talent. It is true, but this is obviously an advantage for the visiting team. There are may other points to pick, if you go to give a prediction on this match. However, what I think is that Patriots are favorite, but Jaguars have it in them to cause an upset. Everything depends on how the teams perform on the match day.
