Justine Henin in Australian Open Tennis 2008

Justine Henin is perhaps the most favorite for winning the women’s singles title of Australian Open 2008. The Belgium has spent another superb year in 2007 winning two of thee grand slam tournament she took part last year. The only grand slam she did not take part was Australian Open 2007. She withdrew her participation because of personal problems related to breaking up her marriage.

So, the women’s world no. 1 is eager to take part another Australian Open tennis tournament. Henin started the New Year winning her 40th WTA title defeating Svetlana Kuznetsova 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the final of Sydney International. So, it is obvious that the Belgium still carries her great form of last year. Henin won seven grand slam tournaments in her career including 2004 Australian Open title. Justine Henin won French Open and U.S. Open titles last year whereas she could not reach the final of Wimbledon.

Justine Henin should not have any problem to reach the fourth round of Australian Open 2008. In her fourth round encounter, she may face 13th seed Tatiana Golovin. In the quarter final, her probable opponent would be Maria Sharapova. Serena Williams could be her semi final opponent in Australian Open 2008 tournament.
