Australia vs India Third Test: Virender Sehwag in, Yuvraj Singh out

With an inspirational century against ACT Invitational XI, Virender Sehwag now seems to have confirmed a place in the final line up of India for the third test. The hard hitter was not in the final line up of the first two tests. Now, having lost both tests, India is going to include Sehwag for the upcoming test and the most likely player to be replaced is Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj Singh could not impress in the tour with his four innings- 0, 5, 12, 0- amassing only 17 runs. However, the batsman was in an imperious from in the home series against Pakistan. Noiw, it is almost certain that Yuvraj Singh is going to be dropped and Virender Sehwag will replace him.

Hindustan Times reported:

"We still have to have a final look at the pitch but in all probability Sehwag will come in," Kumble told a news conference on Tuesday………

Rahul Dravid, who opened in the first two Tests, would revert back to his normal position at number three while Vangipurappu Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly would all drop back one spot with Yuvraj Singh likely to be dropped.

Virender Sehwag has been out of test cricket for 12 months and he was also dropped from India’s ODI team following the poor ICC World Cup performance. Sehwag was recalled for India’s Twenty20 world cup mission, where his performance was not that much satisfactory. Then he has been included for India’s tour to Australia amidst huge controversy, because of his poor form in the domestic cricket. However, he indicated his coming back to form with a century in the practice match. So, he is going to play his first match in the series.
