India’s newly appointed coach, Gary Kirsten has recently talked about the recent controversy following the second test of the Australia vs India test series. A former South African batsman has said that the spirit of the game was breached. He ahs also stated that if he were in the battle then he would have different perspective.
NDTV reported:
"The spirit of the game was breached and I'm not sitting on the fence. The game doesn't need two nations saying I was right. To me it's sad what is going on," said Gary Kirsten Coach, Indian Cricket Team.
"I'm looking at it objectively because I wasn't in the heat of the battle. Maybe I'll have a different perspective if I was in the heat of the battle," said Gary.
Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh was given three-match ban for racial abuse which led India to appeal against the verdict given by match referee Mike Proctor. India also bought charge against Brad Hogg of Australia for racial abuse. Then poor umpiring was also an issue of India and on their demand, ICC replaced two umpires Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson ahead of the Perth test. However, India dropped their charge against Brad Hogg following a successful meeting between two captains. Harbhajan Singh was also cleared off to take part in the Perth test, pending his appeal against three-match ban. So, the situation has come under control recently.
