India vs Pakistan Test Series 2007: Anil Kumble to Play His Debut Test as Captain

Anil Kumble will play his first test as India’s test captain on 22 November in the first test of India vs Pakistan test series 2007. This 37 year old leg spinner will play his debut test series against arch rival Pakistan. It can be a pressure for Anil Kimble. However, the way he has been serving India for many years, it now seems that he has the ability to lead Indian in test cricket. He is currently the third highest wicket taker in Test cricket with 566 test wicket. The first test of the three match series will kick off at the Feroz Shah Kotla on 22 November.

His career was thought to come to an end after the end of the world cup this year. He quit from one day cricket and gave his focus only on test cricket. So, the offer from BCCI came as a surprise for this bowler. With the presence of team mates like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble could hardly get any media focus. However, he continued showing sheer consistency over more than a decade for Indian team.

Recently while going through some websites, I got an interesting article on South Asia Biz on India’s new captain Anil Kumble. The article was informative where writer gives information regarding his career, personality achievement etc. If you want to get an overall idea regarding Anil Kimble, you can visit the article titled: Anil Kumble: India’s New Test Captain.
