World's Smallest Dog: All About Boo Boo

Boo Boo, a dog of Chihuahua breed, has become the world’s smallest dog in height. Recently Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed that the four inches (10.16cm) tall dog is now the smallest dog in the world. Boo Boo got two big eyes unlike to her body. Boo Boo weighs just 1.5 pounds (675 g). There are two kinds of Chihuahua available in the world. One type is called long-coat and another is smooth-coat. Boo Boo is a long-coat Chihuahua with two big eyes.

Boo Boo defeated her nearest competitor Ducky to win the title. Earlier Ducky was reportedly the smallest dog in the world. However, this smooth-coat Chihuahua, with a height of 4.9 inches, could not hold the record of being the world’s smallest dog. Previously, Danka Kordak of Slovakia was the holder of this record with a height of 5.4 inches (14 cm) tall. Danka Kordak has died recently. However, Ducky is still the smallest dog in the world in weight having a weight of 1.4 pounds (650 g), just 0.1 pound short to Boo Boo’s weight.

Lana Elswick claimed that Boo Boo had to given food every two hours after her birth. Lana Elswick has 19 years experience of raising Chihuahuas. Actually, it was possible for Lana Elswick to raise such a small dog because of her huge experience in this field. Otherwise, I guess, the task should not be so easy to raise a small dog properly.

Chihuahua breed of dog is named after a Mexican state where it was first found. Chinese hairless dog is thought to reach at Alaska from Asia and then mixed up with Toltec and Aztec Techichi. In this way, we got present day Chihuahua. This is undoubtedly the smallest breed of dog. However, normally Chihuahua breed of dog have large eyes. Their ears are also large and erect.

Generally Chihuahua dogs have height between 6 and 10 inches. However, there are exceptions as well. They get any color combination; it can be solid or marked or splashed. However, blue colors Chihuahuas are rare. They are curious by nature and small in size. That is why, they can easily assimilate with any environment. However, it is also true that they are ill-tempered to some extent. Generally they have fame for their personality and devotion. So, to many, Chihuahua are favorite. “People say Chihuahuas are miserable and evil. I think they’re really sweet, and if you want to go some place, you can just throw him in your pocketbook.” said his owner Lisa Messier.

So, it is interesting to see such a cute dog like Boo Boo. Now, let us for how long she can hold the record. No matter, if she loses her title. The main thing is that Boo Boo looks nice and it is necessary to take proper care of her.
