So, fans on both sides are now excited ahead of the month long series between these two rival teams in the cricket world. India and Pakistan both have gone through some disastrous and impressive performance this year. After their devastating performance in the ODI world cup, both India and Pakistan have impressed with their performance in Twenty20 world cup tournament as the two arch rivals were the finalist of the tournament.
However, after the Twenty20 world cup, neither India not Pakistan could continue their impressive performance. India has lost the ODI series against Australia at home whereas Pakistan lost the Test series against South Africa at home. So, the players of both sides will be inspired to play well and retain their form in the India vs Pakistan series.
Both the teams have a combination of experienced and young cricketers. India’s three star batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid will be the main strength of Indian batting live up. Pakistan also has some experienced batsmen like Yunis Khan, Mohammed Yousuf and Shoaib Malik. Pakistan always has some advantages when it comes to pace bowling. On the other hand, pace bowling is always a problem for India. However, India has some quality spinners like Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble. Danish Kaneria has to take the helm of Pakistan’s spin attack in the Test series. In ODI, Pakistan does not have problem in spin attack as they have some effective bowlers like Mohammed Hafiz, Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi who can be vital for the opponent batsmen in limited over cricket. Indian environment is very similar to that of Pakistan and that is why, India will not have huge advantage being the host country. Sub continental wickets are always helpful for the spinners. Naturally, India will make spinning wicket during the series and spinners will have advantage in the series. So, you can expect a competitive India vs Pakistan series.
