Women’s World Cup 2007: Brazil is now Rocking

Brazil is playing like a favorite in the ongoing Women’s world cup 2007. After winning the first two matches in Group D, Brazil now leads in the group. Brazilian striker Marta Vieira da Silva has already scored four goals in two games that Brazil took part so far in this tournament. Brazil is most likely to enter into the quarter final as the champion in this group.

Brazil started the tournament in style. Brazil won the first match against New Zealand with a big margin 5-0. In the second match, Brazil could continue their performance winning the match by 4-0 against strong China. It is needless to say that Brazil is now dominating in the tournament. Even defending champion Germany and another favorite USA could not show such dominating performance so far in the tournament.

To tell the truth, Brazil does not have as much impressive performance as their men’s football team has in men’s football. Brazil has participated in all previous world cup tournaments. Their best performance was in 1999 Women’s world cup where they won the third place. Now, this time in China, Brazil is playing artistic football. I think, they have potential to win their first ever world cup title here in China.
