US Open 2007: Justine Henin Gets into Semi Final

Belgian star Justine Henin has ensured her semi final round defeating Australian Open winner Serena Williams in the quarter final. The match was thought to be a classic one as both Henin and Serena were tournament favorites. However, world no. 1 ranked Justine Henin defeated Serena Williams by 7-6 (3), 6-1. So, no doubt, the home crowed was not happy with the performance of Serena Williams.

Finding all the right angles and hanging tough on long rallies, Henin beat Williams 7-6 (3), 6-1 Tuesday night to reach the U.S. Open semifinals. They have met in the quarterfinals at three consecutive majors, and Henin is 3-0.

This year, Justine Henin and Serena met in grand slam tournaments for three times and Justine Henin won all the three matches. Belgian top seed Henin played very well in the match and to tell the truth, she did not give any chance to her American opponent. So, Justine Henin must be determined to win ser seventh grand slam title in US Open 2007. However, Henin has to face Serena’s elder sister Venus Williams in the semi final. So, fans can expect a classic match in the semi final.
