Twenty20 World Cup: Daniel Vettori Leads New Zealand in 10 Runs Victory over India

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori had earlier said that he himself would be vital against India. So, he kept his word taking four wickets against India guiding New Zealand to a 10 runs victory. It was the first match of Super Eight round for both India and New Zealand. Winning the match, New Zealand is now in good position in Group E. New Zealand piled on 190 runs batting first in the match. India started their innings in style taking 76 runs in their opening partnership. However, because of poor performance of middle order and lower order batsmen India lost the match.

Reuters reported:
After opening batsman Virender Sehwag had thrashed 40 off 17 balls as India raced to 76 without loss in the sixth over, left-arm spinner Vettori asked too many questions of the remaining Indian batsmen, taking four for 20 as they finished on 180 for nine.
Vettori's testing variations of flight and pace first accounted for Robin Uthappa for a duck as he pushed back a return catch and then Gautam Gambhir, who looped a catch on the leg side to wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum.

India will play their second match against England and New Zealand will also play their second match against England. Now, let us see of New Zealand and India can get into the semi final round of Twenty20 world cup 2007.
