Pakistan is now very near to their semi final entrance in Twenty20 world cup 2007. In their second match of Super Eight stage, Pakistan defeated world champion Australia by 6 wickets. Misbah-ul-Haq and Captain Shoaib Malik led Pakistan with to a tremendous win over Australia. Batting first Australia could put on 164 runs losing seven wickets after 20 overs. Pakistan bowlers did not give any room to the Australian batsmen to dominate and thus Australia could not throw a bigger score to Pakistan.
Pakistani batsmen proved again that they have the capability to chase even a big score. Pakistan started well putting on 25 runs in opening partnership in 3.1 overs. However, within 6.4 overs they lost four wickets when their score was 46. At that crucial situation, Shoaib Malik and Misbah-ul-Haq took the responsibility and put on an unbeaten 119 run partnership that guided Pakistan to win the match.
Misbah-ul-Haq got the man of the match prize for his 66 runs off 42 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. Shoaib Malik scored 52 facing just 38 balls in which he hit 4 boundaries and 2 over boundaries. So, it seems that Pakistan middle order is really very strong.
