India vs New Zealand: Who Will Win?

Indian fans are happy, excited and dreaming after defeating Pakistan in the latest match of Twenty20 World Cup Cricket 2007. India is in now super eight. For Indian players, there is just one day rest and tomorrow India is playing against New Zealand in the first match of Super eight stage. This is a very important match for both the teams. A win in the first match will put them in a good position in the point table. The losing team will not be out of Twenty20 World Cup but then they will have to win the other two matches.

Let us first look back to the performance of India and New Zealand in first round of Twenty20 World Cup 2007. India could not play their first match against Scotland because of rain. In the second match, India achieved a nail biting victory against arch rival Pakistan in the tie breaker. On the other hand, New Zealand demolished Kenya in the first match while in the second match, New Zealand was defeated convincingly by Sri Lanka. India has two advantages in this regard. First of all, Indian players played last night and today they could have full rest. So, tomorrow, they will be in fresh mood and this can be a very good advantage for Indian players. On the other hand, New Zealand players played today and had to work hard against Sri Lanka. So, New Zealand players are a bit tired. Secondly, Indian players will have psychological advantage in the match as Indian players are now in great feeling and confident after defeating arch rival Pakistan. On the other hand, New Zealand suffered a demoralizing defeat against Sri Lanka today.

The main strength of India will be batting. This Indian team is full of big hitters. Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sehwag, Uthappa, Pathan- all of them can hit huge sixes and boundaries. So, Indian batsmen will have to work hard tomorrow in the mach India vs New Zealand. Indian bowling is still unimpressive. The bowlers cannot sustain pressure on the opposition batsmen. However, I was fully impressed with Indian fielding last night against Pakistan. The players are young and they can run fast and their ground fielding is good too.

New Zealand has a strong team in Twenty20 World Cup. New Zealand has exceptionally gifted batsmen who can score very quickly. Peter Fulton, Brendon McCullum, Scott Styris and Craig McMillan can cause nightmare for any team. Well, I have to say that we have not seen them in full form in the current Twenty20 World Cup 2007. Daniel Vettori and Shane Bond are their best bowlers. If they can take some early wickets in the Indian innings then New Zealand will have a good chance of winning the match.

Who will win?

This is the basic question. I think that India will win the match of India vs New Zealand tomorrow in Twenty20 World Cup. India has a balanced side and Indian batsmen can really demolish any bowling attack in the world. On the other hand, if New Zealand bowlers can take some early wickets then New Zealand would stand in better chance of winning.

What is your idea?
