U.S. Open 2007: Roger Federer is on the Verge of an Open Era Record

US Open 2007 is going to be started at Flushing Meadows, New Work from 27 August 2007. Fans are now excited for the year’s last Grand Slam tournament. Ahead of this popular tennis tournament, tennis stars around the world will engage at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. However, no doubt, this time much of the attention will be on Roger Federer, defending champion and current no. 1 ranked tennis player. Roger Federer has already created some records in his illustrated career and he is now on the verge of another record. If he can win the U.S. Open 2007 title then he would be first person in the open ear to win the U.S. Open title for four consecutive times.

Recently the draw of U.S. Open has been held at Empire State Building and it seems that Roger Federer is going to reach quarter final very easily. In the first two rounds he will face minor opponents. In the third round, there is a possibility that Federer may face American debutant John Isner. However, Roger Federer will face real challenge from the quarter finals where he is most likely to face another American Andy Roddick who is now fifth ranked according to ATP ranking.

Tennis-x.com reported:

It’s usually the Masters Series events that give fans blockbuster match-ups right from the start, but this year’s Open offers up No. 5 Andy Roddick vs. Justin Gimelstob and No. 6 James Blake vs. “Iron” Mike Russell in all-American openers; former No. 1 and current No. 16 seed Lleyton Hewitt vs. Amer Delic; Tim Henman in what is likely his final US Open vs. No. 27 Dmitry Tursunov; No. 3 Novak Djokovic vs. Mario “Baby Goran” Ancic; No. 4 Nikolay “All In” Davydenko vs. American wildcard, University of Florida player and Federer practice partner Jesse Levine; No. 18 Marcos Baghdatis vs. Max “The Beast” Mirnyi; and American late-blooming prodigy Donald Young vs. Aussie boomer Chris “Penthouse” Guccione.

US Open 2007 will be highly competitive as the performance of the top seeded players was good and they must try their best to cause upset in the forthcoming U.S. Open 2007 tournament.
