U.S. Open 2007: Ana Ivanovic is Now More Matured

Ana Ivanovic is going to take part her second U.S. Open tournament. She participated in US Open 2006 where she could reach at 3^rd round. However, over the last year, Ivanovic could bring out a huge change in her mentality, her skill etc. Besides, Ana Ivanovic showed some excellent performance in French Open and Wimbledon Open in this year. Now, ahead of the US Open 2007 she is now more confident to play well and give some real challenges to the top seeded players. In 2007, Ivanovic defeated five top ten players that paid off in her ranking. Ivanovic is now no.5 ranked players in WTA ranking.

In the last Grand Slam in Wimbledon 2007, Ivanovic reached at the semi final round where she was defeated by the eventual champion Venus Williams. After that she did not participate in Stanford and San Diego tournaments but came back at Los Angles tournaments successfully winning the tournament. According to Ivanovic hee major development was psychologically.

"Somewhere deep inside I felt this," she said. "Winning Berlin helped. I felt more confident and relaxed and I knew not to get too over-excited. That's when I start missing and then I want to improve too fast, then I start to miss and get out of my rhythm."
Ivanovic said much of the key to her success has been her new-found ability to think about what she should be doing technically and strategically in the moment, rather than what lies ahead of her.
She said in her loss to Henin in the French Open final, she had forgotten to do that.
"I was thinking I can win a grand slam now and then it all changed and I got too nervous, but I learned from that."

Ana Ivanovic is now looking forward to the coming U.S. Open 2007 and she is now confident to present with some better performance in U.S. Open 2007. I think she has the capability to become the next star of tennis world. If Ana Ivanovic can continue her development and self improvement then it is very possible for her to become world no 1 one day.
