Ana Ivanovic Looks Confident ahead of U.S. Open 2007

Ana Ivanovic is going to be the next star of world tennis. She is now at 5th position in WTA ranking. Ana Ivanovic’s performance in this year was excellent and her ranking rose up with a great speed. The most important this is that Ivanovic is developing her skill day by day. She played her first Grad Slam final in French Open 2007. Now, ahead of the U.S. Open 2007, Ana Ivanovic looks more strong and skilled to show better performance. The year 2007 was a breakthrough year for this Serbian tennis star. She defeated five top 10 players this year Kuznetsova, Sharapova, Jankovic, Nicole Vaidisova and Nadia Petrova. To her, these wins gave her lots of confidence.

In the last few months, she fitness was improved. Ana Ivanovic improved in her skill as well. Now, Ivanovic now plays excellent forehands comfortably. Her serves, volley, backhands are now more accurate and effective. So, as a player Ana Ivanovic is now more matured than ever.

Fox Sports reported:

"Her fitness coach did a good job with her. She's lost some weight and is dangerous, and even out of difficult positions she's coming up with big shots," Petrova said. "I would say she just rips [her forehand] off without even thinking. Comparing with any other players, it is the best forehand by far on tour."
"I got more mature and put in the hard work. And I can control my emotions much better," she said.
"I feel pretty confident in my game and would like to challenge them and play them again because definitely, I would have a good chance," Ivanovic said.

Ana Ivanovic has defeated a number of top seeded players in different tournaments. However, she has not beaten current world no. 1 Henin, Serena and Venus Williams yet. However, the last Grand Slam of the year, U.S. Open is still to begin and who knows that if Ivanovic has some surprising performances left at her hand to present to the tennis world.
