Rugby World Cup 2007: England Squad

Reigning Champion England has already declared their 30 man squad for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2007. England won the last world cup in 2003 in Australia. In the final, English team defeated Australia in a close match by 20-17. It was the first time England could win the Rugby world cup trophy. English team will definitely try to hold the trophy this time as well.

England has formed an experienced squad for Rugby World Cup 2007. Mike Catt will be playing his fourth world cup for his country. Besides, there are five veterans in the squad who will appear in their third world cup in the coming Rugby world cup 2007. Moreover, Coach Brian Ashton also included 8 players who were in 2003 world cup wining team.

Mike Tindall and Charlie Hodgson have not got chance to the squad because of lack of fitness and match practice. Both of them came back from long term injury but were ruled out of the world cup team.

England will play their pool matches in Pool A along with former world champion South Africa, Tonga, Samoa and United States. England will play their first match of Rugby world cup 2007 against USA on 8 September 2007. Of course, England and South Africa are most favorite to go into the quarter final stage from Pool A.

i think that Ashton has made the wrong desision by not playing the younger of the players who need world cup experience as the more experienced players will most likly not be around for the next world cup.
