India vs England 1st ODI: England Batting

First ODI match between India vs England is just 2 days away. Fans of both teams are now eagerly waiting for the series. Having won the test series, India is now definitely in strong position whereas host England team is now going though criticisms from media and cricket analysts.

ODI series victory can be a condolence for the English fans and for that, England has to play well in both batting and bowling. Now, ahead of the 1st ODI match, I am going to write about the batting line up of England.

England’s batting in last two tests of the test series was not good though Kevin Pietersen, Alastair Cook and Michael Vaughan played some good innings. Kevin Pietersen will be the main strength of the England betting line up. This hard hitter is now in his top form in both ODI and Test cricket. In the recently finished test series he had two centuries. England’s new ODI captain Paul Collingwood will also have a big responsibility in the middle order and have to play some excellent innings in the ODI series.

I do not know if Andrew Flintoff will play in the ODI series or not. If he plays then England will also expect some big score from this all rounder. Two openers Alastair Cook and Matt Prior have to show consistency over the series because a good start is like half of the works done.

So, I think, England has some top class batsmen to fight back against India. What they need now is to perform consistently and make some good partnerships in a match. I think, if England batsmen play their natural game then the task of Indian bowlers will be difficult.
