EPL 2007-08 Live: Fans in Canada Need More Money

Football or soccer is the most popular and richest sports in the world. Its popularity has attracted the big names in TV world. English Premier League is now the most popular football league in the world and this popularity has become a problem for many fans around the world. Fans have to spend more money to enjoy live matches of Premier League. The same thing is going to happen for Canadian fans to enjoy EPL 2007-08 matches live. They will have to spend more money than last year.

The Star reported:

Setanta Sports, which owns Canadian rights to English soccer, confirmed yesterday that all but one game a week will be available exclusively on either its premium digital channel or its monthly pay-per-view package. Cost will be around $15 a month, not including rental or purchase of a digital box.

Setanta has the rights to three Saturday games, the early Sunday game, the Monday afternoon match and all weekday contests. The other game, Sundays at 11 a.m., will be on The Score.

The FAN 590 will also air a Saturday morning match.

I feel a lot of sympathy for Canadian fans but at the same time, I cannot blame the TV channel. The reality is that Setanta has bought TV rights with a lot of money in the place. So, it has to get the money from the fans.

Meh, EPL's too boring anyway, and not worth my 15 bucks a month for a 4 team league! Give me Bundesliga anyday, 4 matches each weekend plus Spanish and Italian Leagues. And GolTV only cost about 2.50 a month!
