Wimbledon 2007: Good bye Amelie Mauresmo

Amelie Mauresmo is the current Wimbledon champion. Well, she is no longer present to defend her title in Wimbledon 2007. She has suffered a bad defeat at the hands of Nicole Vaidisova. Nicole is a teenager and she enjoyed defeating the champion Amelie. On the other hand, it was a terrible feeling for Amelie as she had great expectations.

The Daily Record wrote:

The champion had her colours lowered by Czech teenager Nicole Vaidisova, who produced a stunning display of power and finesse on Centre Court to triumph 7-6 4-6 6-1.

For a player who has so much talent Mauresmo also harbours an incredible amount of self-doubt and that again proved her undoing.

Poor Amelie Mauresmo. She should get some rest and then start again for US Open 2007.
