Marion Bartoli in Wimbledon 2007

Wimbledon 2007 is now going on and just a few matches left to decide the winners of the Third Grand Slam of the year. Many upsets have already been seen in the women’s singles competition. The two semi-finalists of the women’s single are Marion Bartoli and Venus Williams and their ranking positions are 18 and 23 respectively. So, you can see that all the top seeded starts have gone out of the tournament before the final match to be held. Many new stars showed their ability to be the suture star of the tennis world.

Particularly, I would like to point French star Marion Bartoli, one of the finalists. Bartoli could never go beyond 4th round before Wimbledon 2007. Her fourth round exit from French Open 2007 was her best Grand Slam result. However, Wimbledon 2007 has presented a new Bartoli. From the very beginning of the tournament, Bartoli has been playing superbly. This is her debut Wimbledon tournament. She played her first Grand Slam tournament in U.S. Open 2002.

You can not say that her reaching to the final of Wimbledon 2007 is a fluke as Bartoli could get some convincing win over the higher ranked players in her way to the final. In her fourth round match, Marion Bartol beat third seeded Jelena Janković. I think that Bartoli is in the way of being the next star of the tennis world. Marion Bartoli has the ability to win her first Grand Slam title in Wimbledon 2007. Let’s see what happen.
