Brazil-3 --- Argentina-0

Defending champion Brazil has won the championship of Copa America 2007 Football by defeating Argentina 3-0.

Argentina was the hot favorite before the start of the match but Brazil played very well and took 2 goal lead. Brazil really deserved to take the lead. At the beginning of the match, Julio Baptista scored a superb goal from a long pass and totally stunned Argentine team. Argentine players could not recover from the shock and Brazil dominated much of the first half. There were some passages of time in the match when Argentina launched some attacks but in the first half they could not really threaten Brazilian defense. You have to give a lot of credit to Brazilian defenders. They did not allow Argentine players any space.

Of course, Argentina was unlucky too as in the 8th minute, a superb volley hit the Brazilian bar and no goal came. The second goal was an own goal from Argentine captain Ayela. He is a veteran player.

The best part of first half was that it was a very entertaining and clean game. There was hardly any serious foul and only two yellow cards were shown to one player each from the two teams. Yes, there was attacks and counter attacks. However, in the first half, we did not see any nice freekick or corner kick or any nice heads.

In the second half, Argentina was a bit better but their strikers were not upto the market. Well, you have to give all the credit to Brazilian defenders. I never saw Brazilian defenders playing such a good match.

Argentine players are unlucky in the sense that the match took place in a very hot weather. The match was scheduled at mid noon and it was not good for Argentine players as they played the other matches in the evening time.
