Ana Ivanovic Aims at the No. 1 Place

Ana Ivanovic is going to be the new star of tennis world. The current no.5 ranked Serbian tennis star has already attracted a huge attention in the tennis world. In the last two Grand Slam tournaments, she showed some alluring performance causing many upsets. In French Open 2007, Ivanovic reached at the final but lost the match against the current world no. 1 Justine Henin. Then in the recently held Wimbledon 2007, Ivanovic continued her success reaching at the semi-final stage.

Recently Ana Ivanovic has expressed her wish to be the no. 1 in the WTA ranking and Ana thinks that she is in the right track to achieve the goal.

Xpress4me reported:
"I just want to enjoy the season. I’m very happy with my game at the moment, but I still need to improve in all areas.
"My goal is to be No 1 and obviously this is another step towards that. I’m still very young, so I don’t put a time on when I want to achieve this goal, but I feel I am moving in the right direction.
"It’s important that I get more experience. Being in these situations helps for the next time. I was very intimidated by the Centre Court the first time I played on it against [Nicole] Vaidisova, but then after a set or so I could relax a little bit.
"Against Williams it wasn’t really the occasion, it was that she played so well. But for sure I can improve on how I handle these big occasions and I’m confident this will happen."

Ivanovic has the potential to be the no. 1 but what she needs is to focus just on tennis rather than anything else. Sometimes the newly found star image becomes a hindrance for the rising stars. I hope Ana Ivanovic will not follow that way and will be able to set her place on top of all in the tennis world.
