Paul Casey is Confident ahead of The US Masters

Paul Casey, the British golfer, is now very hopeful to do well in the upcoming US Masters, one of four major golf tournaments. Casey has recently suffered from a flue which created a blow on him ahead of the Masters. However, he thinks that he is well enough to take part in the tournament and is confident with his current form as in the last week he played very well. The Guardian reported:

Today was very good," a beaming Casey told reporters after climbing into a tie for 10th place on four-under 212, seven strokes behind the pacesetting Tiger Woods.

"I went out there with very low expectations, trying to carry on with the birdies and eliminate the mistakes.

"And that's exactly what I did," added the Arizona-based professional, who rattled up six birdies in a blemish-free display at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa to equal the lowest score of the day.

"I'm feeling a lot better and I'm happy with the form. I've just got to try and continue that through the Masters."

Casey slipped out of contention for last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill after struggling with flu over the last two rounds.

"I was actually very happy to get through last week and finish where I did because I didn't feel like playing on Sunday," he said.

Casey led by one stroke at Bay Hill after 44 holes before tumbling back into a tie for 14th with closing scores of 73 and 74.

"I played some lovely golf last week and then got a little sick unfortunately," added the Briton, who won his eighth European Tour title at the Abu Dhabi Championship in January.

"So it's nice to see my form has not deserted me in the last seven days. Hopefully I will be fully fresh for the Masters."

I think having got out of a flue it would be a bit critical to get his rhythm back. However, it is true that he is in a good form from the beginning of the year. Earlier in January, he won his eighth European tour title. So, I am sure that he will appear in the Masters with this good form.
