Mallika to Appear with Burqa in a Role of a Mislim Woman

Mallika Sherawat, the sex symbol of Bollywood, has signed in her second English movie named Unveiled. The most important thing is that she is going to play in an unconventional role which does not go with her typically short dress. In the movie she will play the role of a Muslim woman. That is why; in the movie she will appear with the typical Muslim dress Burqa. Yes, Burqa!!!

I think you are a bit astonished imitating Mallika Sherawat with Burqa. However, she is happy with her new role and takes it as a challenge. Earlier, she appeared in the movie Myth, which was his England movie. In the movie she acted with famous actor Jackie Chan. Regarding his signing to the second English movie India West reported:

Dressed in a most Mallika-like fashion in a bright red, low-cut dress, she fielded queries and herself asked many questions to her director Bill Bannerman, erstwhile assistant to Clint Eastwood, at the press conference. Her insistence of pronouncing "Babel" as "Buh-bell" was part of her normal affectation, as was her still accented (as in Hariyanvi) English. But we did not mind - after all, here's a babe who has gone places - all the way from Hollywood to Hong Kong! And all mention of "Babel" was, in any case, largely irrelevant babble - oops!

India-West began by asking Mallika whether she was looking at a dichotomy between her Indian (read: completely sexy) image, and that of a good actress overseas.

Replied Sherawat, "Yes, I will be moving from the bikini to the burqa! I am looking at good, challenging and exciting roles abroad, and am lucky and blessed that Bill and John [producer John Lind] offered me this film. The story and role are such that every woman can identify with my character. Especially me, because in a man's world I have had to face a lot of similar situations after I opted to make a place for myself."

Mallika added that she was going to do acting workshops before they began shooting and that she would concentrate on "Unveiled" completely while it was in production. "I want to elevate my artistic level and grow with good roles in good cinema. For example, (playing a) Muslim, I have to keep in mind the finer nuances, like the exact gestures and body language when they pray."

Stressing that what happened in "The Myth" would not be repeated, she said, "A Jackie Chan film is primarily that. All other characters are secondary, just like in a James Bond film. But when you guys grumble that there was hardly anything of me in that film I feel flattered, because that means that you missed me!" (The girl sure knows how to talk. She's not all - well, physical, right?)

Bannerman added, "Sure. The film has her as the heroine; we are still doing the rest of the casting, but 'Unveiled' is an edgy thriller of the woman's journey in which the twists will keep coming one after the other. We are shooting it across multiple countries, and I must tell you that this is the first mainstream
Hollywood film post-9/11 with a Muslim central character. Today tolerance to multi-culturalism in the U.S has increased."

I think the role in the movie Unveil can be a turning point in Mallika Sherawat’s acting career. However, I am not sure how fans will take her unconventional role and how they will react.
