French women Marion Bartoli lifted the Women’s singles trophy in the Japan Open defeating Japanese Akio Nakamura in the three-set final. This is her second WTA title. Started the match not in a good way, she later proved her skill and confidence winning the title. In this first set Nakamura won by 2-6 but she could not stand on the next two sets where Bartoli dominated over her winning both the two sets by 6-2. It would have been Nakamura’s first WTA title in her career.
Bartoli is happy with her excellent performance in the final as well as in the tournament. In the post match speech Bartoli expressed her happiness with her performance. I am quoting from a website:
"It's always nice to win when you are the top seed," said Bartoli. "I had to play hard and stay focused after dropping the first set."
This tournament will definitely make her more confident and determined for her next tournaments especially the Grand Slams. It is undoubtedly true that Bartoli is now in her best form in her career as she has own both of her WTA championship this year since her being professional in 2000 about six years ago.
