A good catch or a good throw can be a trurning point in the cricket field or saving some runs can be crucial for the result of the match. So, fielding is not less important in the cricket field. For this ICC Champions Trophy 2006, I think Rickey Pointing can be the best fielder as he has already proven his tremendous fielding performance in the past.

He has a tremendous diving skill. His catching power is also an especial one. Pointing as a captain can lead his team very efficiently. So, Pointing as a fielder can play a big role in the success of his team. Though it is my opinion and you may have distinction in the choice, there are uncertainty in everywhere in the cricket field.
