Italian Serie A league is one of the most established football league in the world. Many world famous players played in this league and spent their golden time with different clubs of this league. I have selected 10 famous players playing at present in various clubs.

Dida

Dida is the prominent goalkeeper of Brazil and has the record of playing third highest number of matches with Brazil after Emerson Leao and Claudio Taffaral. He is known as penalty saving specialist. He started his professional career with Vitoria and now after playing in some other prominent clubs, he is now in one of the famous clubs of the world, A.C. Milan. He had to struggle to be the first choice o the A.C. Milan for the position of the Goalkeeper as Christian Abbiati was doing his job well in the position. However, having been loaned by the Brazilian club Corinthians, he could show his ability of being the number one Goalkeeper and there he also showed his penalty saving skills. His international appearance was not so easy because Taffaral and Marcos was established goalkeeper. His international debut was against Ecuador in 1995. He was in the1998 World cup squad of Brazil but he got the Championship medal without p-laying any match. He could no get the position as Marcos was holding the no. one jersey. Later on, in 2006 world cup he played as the first goalkeeper of Brazil. He helped A.C. Mialn to win the UEFA Champions League in 2003 while in the final he saved 3 spectacular saves made his club the European Champion and he became the Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year in the same year.

Kaka

This talented Brazilian midfielder is now playing in the Italian club A.C. Milan. He joined in this club in 2003. He became the reliable midfielder of A.C. Milan within a short time. He stated his career at 19 with Sao Paolo FC where he played two seasons and could score 23 goals. He helped A.C. Milan to polay in the final of the UEFA Champions league where Milan lost to Liverpool FC in the penalty shootout but he became the best midfielder of that tournament in 2004-05 season. His international career was started against Bolivia in 2002. He was also the member of the champion Brazil team in the 2002 world cup. He won the Fifa Confederations cup in 2005 with Brazil. His major club success came with A.C. Milan while the club won Serie A in 2004. Kaka played well in the 2006 world cup.

Cafu

The present Brazilian captain plays in A.C. Milan. This skilled defender played the highest number of matches for Brazil with 140 appearances. Cafu started his career with his home town club Sao Paolo in 1988. He got many successes in his club career but all of his international success are far more that that of his club. Brazil won the 2002 world cup under his leadership. He is the first person who played in the three world cup final.

Javier Zanetti

This Argentine defender is currently playing for Intermilan as captain. He started his career with Talleres in 1992-93 season. He joined in Intermilan in 1995. He won the Italian Serie A in 2005-06 with Intermilan. In his international career he played 101 matches with Argentina including the 1998 and 2002 world cups. He has been one of the 125 greatest footballers according to pele. Zanetti is also involved in many charitable works including helps to poor children.

Alessandro Nesta

The famous Italian defender Nesta plays in A.C. Milan. He started his club career with SS. Lazio youth club in 1985 and started his professional career with the same the club in 1993. In 2002 he joined in A.C. Milan. He won Italian Serie A with both of his club and in 2003 he also won UEFA Champions league with A.C. Milan. He has been a reliable player of Italy. He played 1998, 2002, 2006 world cups and 1996, 2000, 2004 Euro cup with Italy. He won the 2006 world cup where he could just play one match against Czech Republic due to his injury.

Filipo Inzaghi

Inzaghi is the great Italian forward who has been played for many famous clubs in his career. H is now playing in A.C. Milan where he joined in 2001. Aftre his debut in international appearance against Brazil in 1997, he has become the top tenth goal scorer for his country. He played three world cups and two Euro tournaments in his career. He played very well in the last 2006 world cup. He scored consistently in his club career. He has awarded with the Young Player of the Year of Italian Serie A competition after being the top scorer with 24 goals for Atlanta in 1997.

Luis Figo

Figo is considered as one of the greatest footballers of all time. He is currently playing for Intermilan. This Portuguese great midfielder played some famous clubs including FC Barcelona, Real Madrid before joining to the Intrremilan in 2005. He joined to the Real Madrid making the then record of 38.7 million pound form FC Barcelona. He led his country in the world cup 2006 and Euro 2004 where Portugal was the runner-up. In 2001 he became the Fifa World Player of the Year. He also won Serie A, La Liga for four times and UEFA Champions league in 2002 with Real Madrid. Figo is also compared with the Greatest Portuguese footballer Johan Cruyff.

Esteban Cambiasso

Cambiasso is the Argentine midfielder who is now playing for Intermilan. He joined in Intermilan in 2004. He also played for River plate and real Madrid. This talented midfielder has also played in the 2006 world cup for Argentina. He started his professional club career with Independiente in 1998 but he started playing at junior level in Argentinos Juniors from 1995 and he won the Fifa World Youth Championship in 1997.

Francesco Totti

Totti is the captain of Italian club A.S. Roma where he joined at 1993. He was thought to be very talented when he was at his teen. However, he could not show his best in his international appearance. H also played for Italy in the 2006 world cup but he ws not at his full pace as he hade just got out of his ankle injury. He played in the 2002 world cup where he along with his team could make anything memorable. H showed his best performance in the Euro 2000 qualifying round. However, he is continuously scoring goals for his club.

Luca Toni

This Italian forward has played a great role in winning the world cup 2006 for Italy. Toni is currently playing for Fiorentina and he is the top scorer of the last 2005-06 season in Serie A. He joined in Fiorentina in 2005. After stating his career in 1994 with Modena, he has already played in many clubs. He scored 31 goals in the last season where for the first time a player scored over 30 goals in a season after 1957-58 season. He has a distinct way of celebrating his goals.
