Patrice Evra Denied the Speculation regarding Alex Ferguson Retirement

Patrice Evra, the Manchester Untied left, has dismissed all the reports suggesting Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement at the end of the next season. The France international has rather said that the Manchester United manager would continue his job until death. Terming Ferguson as a culture, Evra has added that people like Ferguson can reach the top and more importantly can stay over there for a long time. He has also revealed what Ferguson actually told his players in the dressing room before a game regarding his retirement. Ever said:

“It was before a game. He [Sir Alex Ferguson] just started talking about how people had been saying he was going to retire,” Evra told the Daily Mail.

“And he asked us if we seriously thought he would just be sitting in his house watching the TV, listening to the radio and doing nothing.

“He said: 'No chance. I have worked all my life and I will work until I die.' For a moment he laughed. And then he said: 'This is my victory. I cannot walk away from this.”

Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra were absent for Manchester United’s 1-0 victory at West Ham United on Sunday as both the players lacked match fitness. However, reports available in the media suggest that both Rooney and Evra could come back with Manchester United’s FA Cup fifth round showdown with Derby County next Sunday.

It was not that Rooney and Evra could not have become part of Manchester United squad that toured Upton Park. However, manager Sir Alex Ferguson was reluctant to risk two of his key players for a low profile premier league clash. Manchester United has been in excellent form recently as they have been in a winning run of eight games in premier league, apart from a run of 13 clean sheets in a row in premier league. As Rooney and Evra are waiting to return in action against Derby County, Manchester United is expected to get over the Derby County challenge pretty comfortably.
