US Open 2007: Serena Williams Reaches at the Fourth Round

Favorite Serena Williams has reached at the fourth round of US Open 2007. Serena won her third round match against Russian Vera Zvonareva by 6-4, 7-6. Though Serena won the first set easily, she had to face a strong challenge in the second set. Second set was decided in tie breaker. Anyway, Serena Williams is one of the favorites in this tournament. Serena won her last US Open title in 2002. So, Serena Williams will try to get back her home grand slam title this time. Serena Williams will face Wimbledon 2007 finalist Marion Bartoli in the fourth round.

News Day reported:
Serena, on the other hand, lamented, "I don't think I've been practicing the greatest." Frustrated? "Not as frustrated as my other two rounds." Happier with her play? "I don't know if I'm happy; I'm happy I was able to come through. I don't think I played well at all."

Serena won the Australian Open 2007. However, in French Open and Wimbledon, she could not even reach at the final. So, US Open 2007 is a big chance for the American to win her third US Open and ninth overall grand slam title. Serena fans are now definitely waiting for something like that.
