Rugby World Cup 2007: Schedule of Romania

Rugby world cup 2007 will start from 7 September 2007. This year the tournament will be held in France. Ahead of the tournament, players and coaches are busy with their last minute preparation. It is true that the tournament is open for about five or six countries because all of them equal chance to win the rugby world cup 2007. So, it seems that the tournament will come up with a huge excitement among the fans. England is the defending champion but they have to face strong challenge from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and France.

Romania is not a big name in the rugby world. Romania has participated in all of the five previous world cup tournaments. However, they could not appear in quarter final stage in any world cup tournament. Romania will be playing in Pool C where they have to face former rugby world cup champion New Zealand, Scotland, Italy and Portugal. So, I do not think that they will have a good chance over New Zealand and Scotland to qualify for the quarter final round. However, Romanian fans can expect something better against Portugal. Rugby coach of Romania Daniel Santamans has chosen an experienced side. 15 out of 30 members of the squad have world cup experience. Romeo Gontineac is going to be the only Romanian to be playing his fourth world cup in the upcoming world cup.
