US Open 2007: Ana Ivanovic Reaches at the Third Round

Serbian star Ana Ivanovic is now on fire. Top 5th seed Ivanovic projected another superb win over French Aravane Rezai. Ana won the match in two direct sets of 6-3, 6-1. Her first round victory over Aiko Nakamura was of also two direct sets. The way Ivanovic won the first two round matches was something special for a player. I think, she looks more confident than she was in French Open and Wimbledon this year.

Boston.com reported:
"Definitely a great atmosphere. But it's tough. I find it very hard because there is a lot of traveling, lot of people. Everyone is trying to talk to you," said Ivanovic. "It's different. It's many people. [There are 1.6 million in Belgrade, her hometown.]
"Once you're on the court it builds you up and gives you energy to play harder. Very exciting . . ."

Ana Ivanovic is improving day by day. This year, Ana played her first grand slam final in French Open where they lost to world no. 1 Justine Henin. Then in Wimbledon 2007, Ivanovic reached at the semi final stage where she was defeated by the eventual champion Venus Williams. Ana Ivanovic will face Vera Dushevina in the third round match. I think, Ana Ivanovic is playing like a favorite. If she can continue with this form then it is not impossible for her to win her first Grand Slam title in US Open 2007.
