Kevin Pietersen looking to solve the dispute with coach Peter Moores

(This entry was originally published on Sunday, January 4th, 2009)

Ever since Kevin Pietersen took over as England captain there was a speculation concerning a rift between Coach Peter Moores and himself. Recently, Kevin Pietersen and Moores again had a disagreement over something which is not yet clear in the media. However, the English captain wants to solve all the disagreements or disputes with Coach Peter Moores before the team heads to West Indies on a tour.

Reports have it in the media that the two had a disagreement recently and following the incident Pietersen had talks with ECB officials in this regard. Now, Kevin Pietersen wants to solve everything before they reach West Indies. Performance of England cricket team was not satisfactory at all in the last two test series. At first, in August 2008, they lost the home test series against South Africa after a long time and then in India they lost the test series. So, if England wants to perform well in West Indies, they have to be united and there should not have any conflict or rift between captain and coach. That is what Kevin Pietersen is looking for at this moment. Now, let us see if Kevin Pietersen and Peter Moores can sort out the problems between themselves.

Kevin Pietersen Sees Positive Sides of his Fall-out with Former Coach Moores

English cricketer Kevin Pietersen has recently said that the January 2009 row involving himself and former coach Peter Moores was needed for the betterment of England team. He now thinks that English cricketers are now much more confident ahead of the much-awaited Ashes 2009 home series against Australia. The middle order batsman, who is currently recovering from injury and is upbeat to take part in the first test starting from 8 July in Cardiff, is also full of praise about current captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower.

Kevin Pietersen was forced to resign as captain in January just after 5 months in the role following his fall out with the England coach. England cricket team is now gearing up to retain the Ashes title from Australia whom England defeated in their last home Ashes series back in 2005 with Pietersen and Flintoff playing at their best.

Well, I also agree with Pietersen in the fact that Flower and Strauss are doing very well at this moment and the personal relationship between captain and coach seems to a positive side of England’s mission to recapture Ashes title.

Kevin Pietersen: Not Good in Twenty20 Format?

Well, do not blame me for the title because this is not my statement. To your surprise, the statement was made by hard-hitter English batsman Kevin Pietersen himself. To be honest, I also got shocked when I first found the statement made by the batsman. In fact, I think, Kevin Pietersen should be among the top ten batsmen of twenty20 cricket.

However, Kevin Pietersen has recently said that he is not good at twenty20 cricket because he did no play many matches in twenty20 format. He thinks that the more one will play in the shortest version of the game the better he would become in this format of the game. You might be surprised to know that Kevin Pietersen has been the most costly cricketer in IPL 2009, even though he played just few games for Bangalore Royal Challengers. However, he has also indicated that he has made some theories which he would implement in the coming twenty20 internationals and he is hopeful that his performance in twenty20 format would improve in future.
