Cesc Fabregas to Miss FA Cup Clash against Manchester United

Following Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League, Arsenal now faces Manchester United in the sixth round FA Cup match at Old Trafford on Saturday.

When Arsenal is looking to regroup after the exit from the Europe, the North London side has suffered another blow as captain Cesc Fabregas would surely miss this important fixture with a recurring hamstring injury. The Spaniard just came back in action in the Barcelona match after missing three matches, but he has tweaked his hamstring again.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that his captain is disappointed with this recurring injury. Moreover, Arsenal would also miss Theo Walcott and Alex Song, both of whom failed to make the trip to Barcelona.

The only good news for Arsenal is that striker Robin van Persie is available for Saturday’s FA Cup encounter. He also returned in action for the Barcelona match after recovering from a knee injury, but was controversially sent off during the match.

Just 15 days back, Arsenal was chasing for four titles, but after failure in Carling Cup final and Champions League, Wenger boys have two trophies up for grab: Premier League and FA Cup- and in both the tournaments they are facing challenges from Manchester United.

Now, let us see if Wenger can motivate his boys and keep their confidence level high as it is badly needed for them.

No, not even 24 hours are left now. In fact, all the players are now perhaps thinking about tomorrow’s match in both the camp. In London, the players are thinking that this is the last chance of glory in this season. If they lose tomorrow then they will be without any trophy this season. If they win then it will be something memorable. They have to something to play for because they know that the goal difference is not that much. The Gunners lost the first leg by just one goal and that is why they have something to be really hopeful.

On the other hand, Manchester United players also know that this is a match they must at least draw. They must go out the final or else the whole season will become meaningless despite the fact that they are going to win the EPL championship. UEFA Champions League is the most prestigious football trophy to win in club football. Manchester United is the reigning champion and their fans expect that they will defeat Arsenal very easily. The coach and the players are also in confident mood. However, the only thing that is against them tomorrow is that they are traveling London and at home Arsenal is always very strong in front of the supporters.
