Toshiba Smart Pad or Folio 100: Will it be an iPad alternative?

It is not sure if it will be called Smart Pad or Folio 100. What is sure is that it will make its’ appear as an iPad alternative. May be, it will impose iPad under a big threat. Well-known brand Toshiba will bring this iPad rival device pretty soon.

Now, gadget lovers are interested to know about it. Will it be able to compete with the iPad? Or, it will be a simple device like any other tablet. However, rumors have been spread out about this tablet.

Details specifications of this upcoming tablet PC have been leaked by Notebook Italia, an Italian gadget website. It is speculated that this tablet PC will run by Google Android 2.2 and an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip. It is also guessed that it will have a 10.1 inch multitouch display with 1,024 x 600 pixel.

Other features include a 16 GB of internal storage space, card reader that will support up to 32GB for additional storage and 1020mAh battery that will provide up to 7 hours of battery life with mixed use.

Opera Mobile web browser has been included that will support Adobe Flash 10.1. It also includes other custom software like a PDF reader, eBook app, and RSS news reader. Its connectivity feature includes 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and 3G capabilities.

Users will also get a 1.3-megapixel webcam, 2 stereo speakers and microphone. It weighs 760gram. However, there has not been found any information that can ensure about the availability of apps from the Android Market.

It seems that Toshiba will make its official announcement in the IFA 2010. So, wait until IFA 2010 to see if Toshiba will make it official or not.
