Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson, who has been on the looking out for a quality left back, is now considering the 31-year-old England international as his first choice left back, even though his specialty is on the right side of the defense. Villa manager Martin O’Neill used Luke Young on the left side last season when regular left back Wilfred Bouma was injured out and Young impressed playing as a left back.

Though Luke Young is highly experienced, his quality as a regular left back is highly doubtful. He may have had a successful last season at Villa, but Hodgson’s decision of playing someone like Luke Young out of position throughout a Premier League season would arise many questions.
