Juventus Planning to Offer £4m Plus Christian Poulsen for Liverpool’s Daniel Agger

Juventus is reportedly planning a bid for Liverpool center back Daniel Agger. Knowing that defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano is now on the verge of leaving Anfield to reunite with former Reds manager Rafael Benitez at Inter Milan, Juventus is going to offer Christian Poulsen who could be a quality replacement for Mascherano.

Reports suggest that Javier Mascherano has already set his sight away from Liverpool who would then have to sign a holding midfielder immediately as the Premier League begins in three weeks.

Christian Poulsen, the 30-year-old Juventus midfielder, may have already seen his best, but his experience and quality could make Hodgson think twice.

Juventus has been on the lookout for a central defender and Inter Milan’s Argentine defender Nicolas Burdisso was their first choice. However, it seems Burdisso would join Roma, if he leaves Inter this summer.

Denmark international Daniel Agger has already become an important part of Liverpool. The 25-year-old has already represented the Reds in 115 matches in all competitions since joining the Merseyside club from Brondby in 2005.

However, still Liverpool manager could be tempted to make business with the Serie A club, considering Christian Poulsen’s quality and experience. Poulsen joined Juventus in 2008 and has so far played 48 league matches. His experienced his best with Schalke 04 where he played 111 Serie A matches during his four-year stay.

Overall, it could be a win-win situation for both sides. Juventus needs a quality center back like Daniel Agger, while Liverpool needs to sign a quality replacement like Christian Poulsen for Inter Milan-bound Mascherano. However, Liverpool manager would have to ensure he has quality players to fill up Agger’s place, before accepting Juventus offer.
