Sol Campbell Ready to Join Manchester United in January Transfer Window

Former England international Sol Campbell is currently without a job and trying to resolve his contract dispute with Notts County. With Notts County, he signed a five-year contract last Summer, but came out of the contract, having played just one game for them. At this moment, Campbell is training with former club Arsenal to keep himself fit.

Reports out in the media claim that Manchester United, who are facing too much injury problems in their defense, could make a move for the 35-year-old defender in January in order to solve their defense problems temporarily. Campbell is also delighted to move to Old Trafford.

Usatoday reported:

"I have heard nothing officially from Manchester United, but there have been suggestions and, of course, it would be a great move for me, if it happens," Campbell told ESPN on Wednesday. "I shall just have to wait and see if a call comes through the right channels. Of course I would love to play for Manchester United, but I am not counting any chickens, just waiting to see what happens."

There is a possibility United might hand him a six months contract until the end of the current season in January. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is now without some of his key defenders like Rio Ferdinand, John O'Shea, Jonny Evans, Gary Neville, Wes Brown, and Rafael and Fabio da Silva due to their injuries.
