West Indies Cricket Academy to Open in October

You know that West Indies cricket is going through a tough time as some of their top players are currently in a self-imposed exile following a dispute with West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) over central contract. In fact, over the last couple of months, there was nothing optimistic regarding West Indies cricket, but now it seems that there is something you can be optimistic for.

WICB is going to open a cricket academy from next month. Board chairman Julian Hunte said that the cricket academy would be a ‘regional academy network’ and WICB has got financial support from Sagicor Financial Corporation in setting up West Indies Cricket Academy.

No doubt, it is a very good initiative taken by the board and I hope cricket in this region would get a boost up by this academy.
