(This entry was originally posted on Tuesday, February 24th, 2009)

Pakistan captain Younis Khan scored triple hundred on the fourth day of the ongoing first test against Sri Lanka at Karachi, becoming the third Pakistani to achieve this mark. With Younis Khan’s captain’s knock, Pakistan scored 574 runs for 5 at the end of the fourth day, trialing only by 70 runs with 5 wickets at hand. Draw seems to be the only likely result at this moment in the match unless anything happens dramatically. Younis Khan is now not out on 306 along with wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal batting on 27. Sri Lankan bowlers specially their two spinners Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis failed to cause any problem for Younis Khan who has become the 20th triple centurion in the history of test cricket.
