You already know that Pakistan has been dropped as one of the co-hosts of 2011 World Cup which was initially due to take place in four South Asian countries: India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka alongside Pakistan. Now that Pakistan is not allowed to host its 14 world cup matches due to the uncertain security condition in the country, all those matches have to be relocated to somewhere else. Moreover, the central organizing secretariat of 2011 world cup is now all set to be shifted from Lahore to Mumbai.
BCCI is going to host a meeting of tournament’s organizing committee today (28 April 2009) where they will discuss about the shift of tournament base from Lahore to Mumbai and the re-allotment of the 14 matches which were due to be held in Pakistan. It has been reported that India wants a big share of those 14 matches because Bangladesh has only one venue. However, I do not think that Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will easily accept this.
