Benitez Not Worried about Sotirios Kyrgiakos’ Disciplinary Problem

You know that Liverpool has just completed the signing of Greek centre midfielder Sotirios Kyrgiakos for £2m from Greek club AEK Athens. The 30-year-old is believed to have brought huge experience with him as he earlier spent 18 months at Scottish club Rangers. So, Kyrgiakos is not someone new to British football. However, there is a concern in the media regarding his hard-tackling mentality for which he picked up 3 red cards during his spell at Rangers.

However, manager Rafael Benitez does not believe that it would be a problem for his new recruit. The Spaniard thinks Sotirios Kyrgiakos has become more matured in the last few years. So, Liverpool would not suffer from the Greek’s disciplinary problems. Benitez rather is pretty much delighted to have a defender with a height of 6ft 5in. He believes that Kyrgiakos’ strength in the air and aggressiveness would boost up Liverpool defense.
