West Indies Defeated New Zealand by 5 Wickets in the Second ODI

New Zealand today. With this victory, West Indies took 1-0 lead in the five match ODI series after the first ODI was washed out due to rain. Due to rain, 22 overs were curtailed from both innings, and both the teams batted 28 overs. Winning the toss, West Indies captain Chris Gayle sent New Zealand to bat first. New Zealand managed 152 runs losing 8 wickets after 28 overs with highest 32 runs coming from opener Jesse Ryde. Jamie How and Grant Elliot also scored 27 and 30 runs respectively in New Zealand innings.

Chasing a descent target of 153 runs, West Indies reached the winning target losing only 5 wickets. Ramnaresh Sarwan played a winning knock of 67 and was awarded the man of the match award.
