India to Play One Extra Test and Twenty20 Matches on New Zealand Tour in 2009

(This entry was originally posted on Thursday, January 15th, 2009)

India’s tour to New Zealand in February has recently been extended by six more days of competitive cricket as New Zealand Cricket responded positively to BCCI’s request to add one more test and Twenty20 match to the pre-scheduled tour. Indian team will arrive New Zealand eight days earlier than it was supposed to. India will set for New Zealand on February 20, with the tour beginning from February 25 with the first Twetn20 match gets underway. However, to accommodate an extra test and Twenty20 match, India would not be able to play any practice match on the tour. That means, India will play two Twenty20 internationals, three test matches and five ODI matches in their tour of New Zealand.
