Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt said that his club will show improved performance in the second half of the season. Liverpool is now leading the point table of premier league midway through the season and the Dutch winger said that it felt great to be at the top of the table. He thinks that it is better to concentrate on the next game, rather than talking about who is going to win the title.
Soccernet.ESPN reported:
“We’ve had some new players in the squad who have made us better but the other players have all been together for a few years now and because of that we are only going to get better and better.”
He told Liverpool’s website: “It is great to be top of the league. We have had a good first half of the season but there is still another really important half to play.
“At the moment it is not necessary to talk about the league title. You can talk as much as you want but if you are not at the top at the end then it does not matter. It is better just to keep focused and concentrated on your next game.”
Liverpool started off the season excellently, losing in only one occasion so far in premier league. Even though Liverpool has already been crashed out of Carling Cup, the Merseyside club also reached the knock out stage of Champions League and made it to the fourth round of FA Cup, defeating Preston last weekend. Dirk Kuyt has also played a big part behind Liverpool’s ruthless form of recent. Now, let us see if the Dutch international can continue helping Liverpool to remain at the top of the league table.
