Glen Johnson: Target of Both Manchester City and Chelsea

Two biggest spenders of English Premier League, Manchester City and Chelsea, are now interested to sign Portsmouth defender Glen Johnson who has been impressive recently with Pompey. No doubt, Manchester City has found buckets of money to sign top class players since the Arab taker-over of the club last season. Now, City wants to make a squad which will be strong enough to qualify for Champions League. It is believed that Manchester City, who already created a buzz by signing Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry recently on a big money deal, is ready to pay £18 million to grab the service of the defender.

Chelsea, on the other hand, needs a much-needed revival in their on-field performance as they failed to win any silverware last season. The blues are also interested to get the service of Glen Johnson whom they sold to Portsmouth two years back for £4 million.

It has also been reported that City has offered Glen Johnson a weekly salary of £120,000. Now, let us see if Johnson moves to either his former club Chelsea or Manchester City.
