West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor has pulled himself out of upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2009 which will kick off from 18 April 2009 in South Africa. The reason behind his pulling out of the tournament is an injury that he sustained from a vehicle injury. Jerome Taylor signed up for IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab during the IPL auction held earlier this year.
Kings XI Punjab has now signed up South African southpaw Yusuf Abdulla as the replacement of Taylor. An excellent left-arm pacer, Abdulla made his international debut for South Africa in a twenty20 international against Australia last week. His bowling economy rate of 5.83 in domestic twenty20 format is definitely very impressive and Punjab wants to capitalize on the player’s experience of playing in his home ground Durban where Kings XI Punjab will play six matches.
