Sourav Ganguly Gets into BCCI Technical Committee

Former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly has recently been nominated in the technical committee of BCCI alongside several other former great players. Ganguly retired from international cricket recently at the end of the recent home series against Australia in which India defeated the visitors 2-0. Within 2 weeks of stepping out of international cricket, Sourav Ganguly has been included in BCCI’s technical committee, led by former great Sunil Gavaskar. The list of members also includes former Test batsman Chetan Chauhan and national team selector Kris Srikkanth. Here, I am giving the full list of the members of the committee from cricketnext:

Full list of technical committee members: Sunil Gavaskar (Chairman), Chetan Chauhan, M V Sridhar, Biman Bhattacharjee, Milind Rege, Gyanendra Pandey, Kris Srikkanth, Sourav Ganguly, VK Ramaswamy, N Srinivasan.

Though it is not yet confirmed what Ganguly would need to do in this job, it seems to be an indication that Sourav Ganguly might get associated with cricket administration. Rumors also have it in the media that Ganguly might try his luck in Politics too.

Throughout his career, Sourav Ganguly played with sheer guile and motivation and was immensely successful as a cricketer as well as a captain. In fact, the kind of unity and motivation the current Indian team features was initiated by Ganguly during his reign as Indian captain. He has the natural ability to lead and motivate others and his excellent man-management ability was another added advantage in his captaincy career. So, I would not be surprised even if he steps into cricket coaching, setting up a cricket academy in West Bengal, considering the fact that West Bengal has not produced many star cricketers as some other states did in India.
